Blessings for New Beginnings

Our lives are sometimes marked by rites of passage.

Graduation, confirmation, Bar Mitzvah, marriage, births of children…

Sometimes, they are great celebrations.

Other times marked by mixed feelings.

Perhaps a death or a separation or divorce, may embrace mixtures of grieving and celebration.

Yet, change is always happening.

What about small changes?

We add new atoms and molecules, by breathing and eating.

Then we breath and poop and pee out the old.

We are shedding our skin daily, and growing new skin.

We are doing the same with our insides, our gut and other mucosal tissues.

Our brains are changing within each moment.

Making new connections.

Sometimes, even growing new cells.

In every moment we create a new self.

New emotions arise.

We make some habitual grooves shallower.

We may deepen other grooves of habits of being.

We usually ignore these changes.

We have our memories, so we think we are the same.

How do we hold these changes?

Most of us don’t feel we’ve changed much since we were 16, or 22, or 30.

Can we sit quietly…

Can we listen deeply…

Can we feel our change?

Can we slowly become Masters of our changing nature?

Are we blown about by the winds of change outside and inside?

As if there was any difference…

Can we surf the changing elements of this being we label “self?”

Enjoying change.

Without labels of good or bad.

Using our energy to make ourselves and all around us a little better.

Or, not…

Align with Source.

The path will be a little smoother.

Namaste.
