The Error of Narcissism
There is an old Jewish joke that relates to this error.
The Shabbos Goy, a non-Jew who helps out on the Sabbath and acts
as a custodian to clean up, came in to the congregation room from the back and
was watching the Rabbi and the Cantor fervently praying.
He was so moved that he fell to his knees and also shouted
out “Oh G-d, I am nothing!”
The Cantor turns to the Rabbi and whispers to him “Look who
thinks he’s nothing.”
We all are sensory organs of Source. The same Source looks out from behind each of
our sensory organs; sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and perhaps, a sixth
sense of intuition.
We are all Source.
Sometimes, when we feel this deeply, we make the error of inflating our
ego. We think that because we are seeing
more clearly than others, we are somehow better than them.

We become humble before the greatness and infinite beauty
and wisdom of Source. We see that we are
but an eddy current in the sea of Source.
This physical body will age and die. Any memory of us as individuals, no matter how
famous we are now, will fade over the millennia to come.
This is our paradox, we are Source, we are everything, and
we are nothing.
Sit with this beautiful truth and let Love Everything fill
you up!
